1st Spanish-Italian Seminar on Digital Assets

On June 10th at 11:30 am CEST at the Aula Camino of Villa Ruspoli in Florence, and online, to discuss the recent provisions adopted by the Spanish and Italian authorities while MiCAR is awaited for 2023. Meanwhile, Member States must find solutions to fulfil the aims of capital, banking, and money market regulation. The approach is not uniform: the strategy differs. BABEL, a research unit of the Department of Economics and Management of the University of Florence, organized a seminar to compare the regulations that Spain and Italy have recently adopted.

1st Spanish-Italian Seminar on Digital Assets

In Spain, the Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores (CNMV) has issued Circular No 1/2022 regarding the advertising of crypto-assets presented as investment objects, which came into force on February 16. In Italy, the Minister of Economy and Finance issued a ministerial decree establishing the special register of OAMs operating in virtual currencies, which came into force on May 18. Rebeca Herrero Morant, University of Zaragoza and Visiting Scholar at the Department of Economics and Management, and Niccolò Travia, Research Fellow at the University of Florence, nudge us to better understand the ratio under the two regulatory schemes. Speakers are introduced by Filippo Zatti, University of Florence & BABEL, and final remarks by Rafael Marimón Durá, University of Valencia, will follow. We are pleased to announce that the Honorary Consul of Spain in Florence Cav. Dr. Sisi Velloso Mata honours us with Her presence.
