Copyright on The Web: How to Protect Yourself?

Presentation of the book Blockchain law, artificial intelligence and IoT by Fulvio Sarzana of

S. Ippolito and Massimiliano Nicotra, Wolters Kluwer, 2018.

How is copyright protected on the web? The agora of the network, dotted with opposing rights and stakeholders, has the ability to make the use of content global, immediate and straightforward: it becomes difficult to protect intellectual property on the net and online platforms.

The meeting, aimed at creating awareness in this regard, will deal with the opposing requests for control and openness, examining the legal and technological protection tools and creating a debate on the "rigid" discipline of intellectual property versus greater openness and freedom.

Our Future between the Technological Revolution, Artificial Intelligence and Robot

Presentation of the book Artificial madness by Luca Bolognini (Rubbettino, 2018)

In the essay "Artificial madness", the significant legal and ethical issues posed by Artificial Intelligence are addressed with simplicity and originality. The nine reflections of this book, both light and profound, clearly guide the present and the future: they range from the analysis of behavioural and aggressive profiling for marketing or propaganda purposes, up to the extreme scenarios of electronic and automated warfare; from freedom of expression to the robotic replacement of workers but also, and perhaps above all, of employers who turn into apps; from the weak relationships of social networks to the monetisation of data, up to the fusion between material and immaterial dimension with the Internet of Things. New rights and new freedoms, new threats and new opportunities in the era of the "digital subconscious".
